Efim is a great instructor. When he began teaching me, I had never driven before in my life. He helped me to gain not only knowledge in how to drive but also confidence. When he teaches he doesn't simply show you series of steps you have to perform but also explains why you really need to do them. Of course patience and cooperation from the learner are very important components for preparation and successful passing of the road test.

In my case, I was away from home studying at University and hadn’t driven for over a year but was very determined and eager to pass my Class-5 road test when I came home for Christmas break. Like everyone on the road I felt like I knew what I was doing, but it only took me 5 min or so on the road with Efim to realize that I needed major polishing to pass the test. Efim at once pointed out my driving weak points and proposed a smart plan for me to follow to pass the road test. It was basically a week-long crash course of driving instruction with the sole goal of getting to the level I needed to reach.

I followed Efim’s instructions, learned many safe driving tips, let his words sink in and relaxed on the road. In a couple of days I got in on stand-by for a test and passed after only 6 days of driving.

I started learning to drive with Young Drivers (YD) school in Vancouver. YD is most well know driving school in the city and is supposed to have engaging and well-trained staff. However I found my experience with YD to be disappointing. My instructor at YD was unengaged and ineffective. In addition they charged me over $150 per lesson. After I completed my YD course I was unsatisfied with the result. Although I learned some skills I lacked the ability to successfully drive alone and as a result failed my road test.

When I started learning to drive with Efim Linshits I saw a tremendous improvement with the quality of teaching. Efim was far more engaged than my previous YD teacher and had a far more effective teaching style.

He charged me less than a third of what YD charged and was able to assist me in easily passing my road test with just after four lessons. Furthermore I found Efim’s approach to drive far superior to YD and took much pleasure in working with him.

I would personally recommend Efim to anyone with the will to learn how drive safely and correctly.

Hi Efim, I just wanted to thank you one more time for everything, without your help I don't think I can say I sit in the driver's seat by myself. I've included my testimony right below this if you wanted to use it, once again thank and hope to see you in the future!

From my first lesson where I was afraid of driving down my neighborhood, to now where I can confidently drive around town, I would like to say thank you. Efim has been an excellent teacher and instructor over the time I've taken lessons from him, his road knowledge and experience speak for themselves when your in the car with him. Among the material he covers is everything required for the road test along with general information of being a safe driver. I see Efim as my driving instructor and a good friend, and I recommend him to anyone who needs just a few lessons for touch up or to complete new drivers.

When I first started studying driving with Efim I had a general understanding of how to drive and how to follow the rules on the road. With Efim’s help I really enhanced my skills in driving. He told about the importance of shoulder checking on the road as well as how to behave yourself on the intersection. I took twelve classes with Efim. In the end it all paid back! I passed my exam on the first try. My overall driving experience with Efim was pretty pleasant. I found myself really comfortable driving with him. His is funny, polite and his kind disposition puts you at ease right away. For every class I had he offered useful tips and tricks on driving.

Through all the classes I took with him, he made me feel confident in driving while still letting me know what I could improve on. The price for driving lessons was pretty reasonable as well. For one hour its 45 dollars. I took one and a half hour lessons two times a week and it cost me 60 dollar per each session, small price to pay for getting a new driving license as well as to learn drive safely.

I would highly recommend Efim as a driving instructor to anyone who wants to learn to drive quickly and safely.

Two years ago I was first told about Efim as a driving instructor through a family friend. He provided me with all of the skills to be a safe driver and to pass my road test. While preparing to take my class 5 license there is nobody else I would have trusted to help me be fully prepared. With his help, I passed my class 5 road test on the first try. Efim has taken my practical skills and made them precise and ready for my road test. He never fails to make sure that my driving skills are perfect and with every lesson has made me a better driver. I remember being really nervous on my first driving lesson. I was under the impression that any driving instructor would be mad at me because I don't know how to drive well. I worked with Efim for about a week to pass my road test after not having lessons for about a year. In my first session, we analyzed my driving skills and he knew exactly how to prepare me for my test the following week. I was quite nervous and lacked self-confidence. He taught me how to take control of myself and the situation. Before I ever met Efim, I had zero driving experience and driving was a task that seemed scary. Before our lessons ever started, Efim explained everything he could to me before I ever tried driving the car. Just this week I passed my road test from my first try, and all the credit of that should go to Efim. I asked Efim to help me to be prepared for the Driving Practice test in the beginning of January 2021. I almost did not have experience of driving in Canada at that time. I booked classes with Efim 6 days prior to my road test exam. I had some driving experience from back home, however I was not feeling confident enough driving in Canada. I guess my main blocker was that I did not know the Canadian way of safe driving. I was super nervous thinking about how I am going to get my road test done. Efim taught me the way how I should drive in Canada, shared a lot of tips for exam including the possible exam route. On arrival to Vancouver, BC, I have realized that I cannot exchange my Ukrainian driving license and need to pass knowledge and road test (class 5, because I had enough experience) in order to obtain my local driving license. The knowledge test part was quite easy, you just need to read the book and practice with test questions in app while road test seemed quite a challenging to me. First of all because for the moment I decided to pass the test, I hadn’t driven for 2 months (since we moved), moreover, the rules here are quite different from Ukrainian and the experience I had in Ukraine was simultaneously as a benefit and as a distraction, for example I never used shoulder check, and it hasn’t become a habit, so every time I change line or turn here, I need to make extra effort to do a shoulder check. And this is only one example, but there are more...

My friend gave me a contact of professional driver who might help me to prepare for my road test. For my first lesson I was quite nervous, but my previous experience payed me back so I could drive at least safely, but believe me, I made hundreds of mistakes, even on simple maneuvers. You need to keep in mind such a lot of details: where to stop, how many times to stop, the distance, the margin, the speed, and the same time to track all signs (which you just learn from the book so they are new for you).

I just took few classes because I had only 5 days between my knowledge and road test, but the professional approach of Efim helped me to obtain the most important information I needed in order to pass my test. He didn’t retrain my old skills, because there were no time for that (and maybe no need, if I had been driving safely for past few years), but I got new skills during driving classes that helped me to pass my test within first try. After my third lesson I fell much more confident and could manage different situations like cyclists on road and 3-way stop intersection without any doubt. My main issue was not scanning intersections properly for 180 degrees and every time I heard comment from Efim to do it properly. You cannot imagine my emotions when examiner told me after test that my strong skill is intersection scanning 🙂 I do appreciate the Efim’s efforts and recommend him as professional driver instructor.

I, Daniil Molchanov, am writing a testimony about my learners driving experience. When I first started practicing with my parents, driving was nerve racking. Before classes with Efim a lot of the rules were confusing for me and seemed unusable. During the lessons, he was able to clearly explain every unclear moment. More than that, I was able to develop the necessary reflexes and use them in day-to-day driving. On the day of the exam, after analyzing the weather and the road conditions, Efim was able to almost perfectly predict the exam route and explain the difficult parts of it. Before I took driving lessons with Efim, I was not confident about my driving abilities and was afraid of the road. I also was not familiar with all the ICBC requirements for the road test. As a result, the first time I did a road test I very quickly failed. When I first met Efim, I met a man who was kind, patient, and extremely helpful. Just after the first lesson, my road confidence increased substantially and I felt a lot more comfortable on the road. His detail-oriented and hands-on approach when explaining driving concepts were incredibly helpful for passing the exam. After a few lessons, I felt confident enough to retake the Class 7 exam and passed with flying colours, all thanks to Efim. I would highly recommend taking driving lessons with Efim not only because you will have a very easy driving exam, but because you will acquire all the skills necessary to be a safe, calm, and defensive driver on the road.

Before taking lessons with Efim, I had fully completed the Young Drivers of Canada course and done my test 3 times, failing each time.

When I contacted Efim to help me get prepared for the road test I was a totally unconfident driver with a Learners license.
I had not enough experience in Canada, just some occasional driving. And when I booked my test in Richmond, lots of people scared me that I will never pass it there. After several lessons with Efim, I got not only my confidence behind the steering wheel but also knew Richmond better than the place where I live. Efim showed me all the routes that are used for road tests by ICBC, explained what to pay attention to, corrected all my big and minor mistakes and gave very useful advice and tips. And in general, he is a very patient and kind person with a great sense of humour.
I highly recommend Efim as a driver’s instructor especially if your road test is in Richmond. I got my Class 5 driving license (which I was eligible for with my DL from another country) from my second attempt (though could get it even the first time but that was my fault only).

I knew how to turn, but my turning was inconsistent; I could park a car, but I could not park a car well; I could drive on busy roads, but I drove carelessly and was not cautious. Learning with Efim was quick to change all of that. Even after the first couple of lessons, I already felt more comfortable on the road and made decisions that were more reasoned and suitable. What helped me improve the most was his particular teaching approach. Instead of getting fixated only on theory or practice, Efim's methodology was a perfect mix of the two. Early on in my lessons, Efim usually spent the first portion clearly explaining various driving manoeuvres. Shortly after, he would help me put some of the maneuvers into practice to secure the newfound knowledge in place.

After learning to drive with Efim (and consequently passing the road test on my first attempt), I can undoubtedly say that I am well-prepared and am looking forward to continuing my driving journey independently as a novice, and do definitely recommend Efim to be your choice for driving education.

I took driving lessons with Efim.

После почти 20 лет «за рулем» в России, я была немного растеряна, обнаружив, что мне нужно в какой-то степени переучиваться заново, забыв про скилы, выработанные годами (на праворульной машине, надо сказать). Поэтому для меня понимание логики тех или иных действий на дороге было важнейшим фактором уверенного вождения «по-канадски». Ефим объясняет все сначала в теории, выдает нужные материалы, потом все отрабатывается непосредственно на дороге. Также нужно отметить располагающую манеру общения Ефима и большое терпение. В итоге я чувствовала себя на уроках комфортно, тест сдала с первого раза и снова полюбила водить ))) Рекомендую Ефима как отличного инструктора и профессионала своего дела!

If you want to adjust and apply your driving experience gained in another country to the Canadian realities, Efim is the best instructor. He not only explains what needs to be done to pass the test, but also how best, and most importantly - why. After almost 20 years "driving" in Russia, I was a little confused to find that I needed to retrain to some extent, forgetting about the skills developed over the years (in a right-hand drive car, I must say). Therefore, for me, understanding the logic of certain actions on the road was the most important factor in driving confidently "like a Canadian." Efim explains everything first in theory, gives out the necessary materials, and then everything is worked out directly on the road. It should also be noted that Efim's disposable manner of communication and great patience should be noted. As a result, I felt comfortable in the classroom, I passed the test the first time and again fell in love with driving))) I recommend Efim as an excellent instructor and professional in his field!

From nothing to license in 35 hours.
I started working on my driving skills with Efim when I had close to zero driving experience and zero confidence in my abilities. Over about 35 hours classes, I’ve developed enough skill to feel completely at easy at the wheel myself and be fully aware of my surroundings and other drivers as well as be able to do the previously dreaded reverse stall parking with my eyes closed comfortably. Without any additional practice, passed my road test on the third attempt receiving some praise from the examiner.
As an instructor, Efim is patient, knowledgeable and witty with seemingly endless list of stories and anecdotes. Another advantage of working with Efim is the very flexible schedule with weekends, early mornings and evenings being available. (Note that Efim only worked in Richmond at the time of writing.)
